Worsship is operated by Worsship Inc. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information
Email address, username, password (hashed), profile photo, bio, and ministry focus.
Content you upload
Videos, images, carousels, captions, scripture references, and community posts.
Payment information
Wallet top-up history and withdrawal records. Card details are processed by Paystack and never stored by Worsship.
Bank account details
Account number, bank code, and verified account name for withdrawal purposes (hosts only).
Usage data
Videos watched, likes, comments, follows, search queries, and time spent on the platform.
Device identifiers
Push notification token (via OneSignal) to deliver notifications to your device.
Analytics data
Aggregated usage patterns collected via PostHog to improve the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Worsship platform
- Process wallet top-ups, tips, and creator withdrawals
- Send in-app and push notifications for platform activity
- Personalise your feed and content recommendations
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations under Nigerian law (NDPR) and applicable regulations
- Communicate with you about your account and platform updates
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers necessary to operate the platform:
Supabase
Database hosting and user authentication. Data stored in EU (Ireland).
Amazon Web Services (S3/CloudFront)
Video and image storage and delivery. Data stored in EU (Ireland).
Paystack
Payment processing for wallet top-ups and creator withdrawals (Nigeria).
OneSignal
Push notification delivery to Android and iOS devices.
Resend
Transactional email delivery (account verification, welcome emails).
PostHog
Product analytics and usage insights (anonymised and aggregated).
Vercel
Application hosting and serverless functions (United States).
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. Videos and images are stored on AWS S3 in the EU (Ireland) region and delivered via CloudFront CDN. All data transmissions are encrypted using TLS. We apply access controls, rate limiting, and monitoring to protect your information. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information via Settings
- Delete your account and associated data (see below)
- Object to processing of your data for certain purposes
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a structured format
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via device settings
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your profile menu (Profile → ⋯ → Delete Account). This permanently removes your profile, videos, community posts, and all associated data. Wallet transactions may be retained for 7 years as required by Nigerian financial regulations.
6. User-Generated Content
Content you upload (videos, posts, comments) is visible to other users according to your settings. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload. We may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines. Deleted content is removed from our servers within 30 days.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use authentication cookies to maintain your login session. These are essential and cannot be disabled. On our web platform, we may use additional cookies for analytics. Our mobile app uses similar device-level identifiers for session management and push notifications.
8. Children's Privacy
Worsship is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at privacy@worsship.com and we will delete the account.
9. International Data Transfers
As a Nigerian platform, your data is primarily processed in Nigeria and the European Union. Some service providers (Vercel, PostHog) process data in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Worsship after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
